Warranty Terms

A two-year sales warranty applies to products and installation by Valguskate OÜ (except textile curtains, which are covered under the handover-acceptance act, and wooden slat blinds, which carry a 6-month warranty). The sales warranty applies in the Republic of Estonia. The basis of the sales warranty is the purchase invoice. The validity of the sales warranty is subject to compliance with the installation, use and maintenance instructions provided by the manufacturer and prior familiarisation with the product at the showroom. The warranty period begins upon delivery of the product to the buyer. In the event of a defect covered by the sales warranty during the warranty period, the warranty provider will repair or replace the defective product free of charge.

Warranty covers

  • Defects in the material and surface coating of the product, provided they are noted in the handover act or reported immediately after discovery and before installation of the product.
  • Mechanism, construction and manufacturing defects of the product.
  • Shape retention of the product (permissible deviation up to 0.5%).
  • Installation errors performed by Valguskate OÜ.
  • Damage occurring during transport carried out by Valguskate OÜ, provided that such damage is recorded at the moment of handover.

Warranty does not cover

Defects in the product or its parts (including breakages) that have arisen from:

  • Transport damage caused by the buyer (including physical crushing of the product or breakage of the packaging).
  • The buyer opening the packaging in a way that damages the product or its parts.
  • The buyer storing or keeping the product in unsuitable conditions (including excessive humidity or incorrect position).
  • Incorrect installation or connection to the mains by the buyer (incl. voltage changes/short circuits in the mains).
  • Incorrect or unintended use or overloading of the product.
  • Incorrect maintenance of the product, including failure to follow the required cleaning and maintenance conditions.
  • The buyer reworking or modifying the product.
  • Repair of the products by an unauthorised person.
  • Settling of the building structure.
  • Normal wear and tear caused by ordinary use of the product (e.g. fading).
  • Characteristics of natural materials (e.g. knots, tonal unevenness, wood grain, stretching, shrinkage, etc.).
  • Products not conforming to the permitted dimensional limits.
  • Maintenance and cleaning work (adjustments, lubrication, oils, etc.).
  • Batteries.
  • Tonal differences between the fabric and material and the sample, which may vary slightly between production batches. Differences between colours shown on the website and the actual colour, which may occur depending on your screen resolution.
  • Damage caused by force majeure.
  • So-called thermal breakage of window glass, which may be linked to additional heat generated by the use of window coverings and many other circumstances that the seller of window coverings cannot foresee.

Procedure for exercising rights under the sales warranty

  • In the event of defects covered by the sales warranty, please submit a written request to the seller.
  • The buyer must submit a proper warranty document – an invoice issued by Valguskate OÜ – together with the following information: buyer's name, contact details, order number (if possible), name of the defective product, time the defect appeared, description of the defect, and the claim being submitted.
  • Further use of the defective product is prohibited!
  • A product brought in for repair must be packaged in a way that prevents further damage, and the product must not be soiled. The seller has the right to refuse to accept a soiled product.
  • If the defect is not covered by the warranty (see list: "Warranty does not cover"), the buyer is obliged to pay for the work performed based on a quote issued by Valguskate OÜ.
  • Defective products and parts replaced free of charge during the sales warranty period remain the property of the seller.
